There are Three Brands of Hyaluronic Fillers
(Juvederm, Restylane, and Perlane)
Hyaluronic fillers are made of a natural substance that already exists in the skin called Hyaluronic Acid or ‘HA’. Since Juvederm, Restylane and Perlane are all made of Hyaluronic Acid, the differences between them are very minor . They all last between 9 to 12 months, but only Juvederm has an FDA approval to last 12 months. Here at Ultimate Image we offer all three Hyaluronic Fillers.
Dr. Swanson will examine each patient in order to determine which filler is most appropriate. Juvederm is most commonly recommended due to smoothness. After numbing the skin with a topical anesthetic or dental block, Juvederm is injected directly into the wrinkle. Some patients choose not to have a topical anesthetic or a dental block. Juvederm is usually used for the lines that form from the nose to the mouth and from the mouth to the chin. Juvederm can also be used for lip enhancement. Most patients will require 2-4 syringes for optimal results. There is no down time and the results are seen immediately.
